Playa Viva is ideal for small weddings of groups of about 30-50. We can host more (up to 120) for the actual event if they are staying at other locations. Can we do the wedding ceremony right on the beach?
Absolutely! We have other locations for the wedding ceremony but the most popular is right on the beach during sunset.
What is required to book Playa Viva for a wedding?
You need to buyout (book all 19 rooms) in the property for at least 2 nights.
Is there a fee for renting Playa Viva for a wedding?
No, unless you require special arrangements, meals or beverages.
Does Playa Viva arrange for wedding planning?
We can do some basic assistance on logistics of the property but we prefer you either use your own wedding planner or we can recommend a local wedding planner to assist with your special event.
What about extra chairs or decorations for the wedding?
If you want something special set up beyond what Playa Viva has we can recommend companies we have used in the past with whom we have a good working relationship with for music equipment, beach decorations, fireworks, tables and chairs, flowers, etc.
Do you charge extra for the wedding banquet?
Since all meals are included with your stay, you are not charged anything extra for the guests who are staying at the hotel. This is only if you do not ask for anything special above what we normally serve at the hotel. If you have guests visiting from outside the hotel, we have a per guest fee. We can also arrange for special items for your wedding meal, details of this are worked out with our reservation and kitchen team. Most weddings hosted at Playa Viva are very happy with the food and don’t ask for anything special for a wedding dinner since most of our meals are special already.
What is the extra fee per guest not staying at the hotel?
We have a “Day Pass” fee that we charge all guests, this fee is $65/USD per day during rainy, low, and holiday seasons and $69/USD during high season. The Day Pass includes all access, all meals, all non-alcoholic beverages (except blended drinks, smoothies and organic coconuts). If not visiting for a full day, please inquire about a special rate for the wedding party only.
Can we bring our own beer/wine/liquor?
Yes, we do charge a bar fee to cover the costs of servers, glasses, glass straws, solar power to keep coolers cold, etc. While we prefer to sell from our bar, we understand that if you have specific items your prefer to procure yourself, we are happy to serve in our facilities for a modest fee.
