Breast cancer survivors and their guests heal the cause.
October 27-30, 2017
The Keep A Breast Foundation (KAB) with a mission to empower young people around the word with breast health education and support, has created a retreat to heal, rejuvenate, and explore the power of self-care. Breast cancer survivors will have the opportunity to ROAR (rest, open, align, and restore) with relaxed minds and open hearts in beautiful surroundings.
KAB has extensively supported breast cancer survivors for the least 17 years through our Treasured Chest Program. Giving women the opportunity to confront the changes, both physical and emotional, that they are forced to face, when diagnosed with breast cancer in a supportive, creative atmosphere.
Please join us for 4 days and 3 nights at the beautiful Playa Viva Eco Resort in Juluchuca, Mexico for the Keep A Breast Survivor Retreat. We will enjoy enjoy the rugged, unspoiled beauty of Mexico in the guilt-free luxury of an environmentally-conscious resort.
We all need some rest, and in order to heal it’s important to take time out of your everyday routine, to unplug, to put your feet in the warm sand and the salty sea, and to release some baby sea turtles with your new bestie.
We have created a special workshop experience called Heal the Cause, where we will look deep into our spiritual and emotional beings at the cause of our cancer, and heal through guided meditation and kinesthesiology.
Daily yoga and meditation lead by breast cancer survivor and yogi Claire Petretti Marti, of Ocean Soul Yoga. We will get into some fun partner poses and chanting sing a longs that will bring us peace and joy.
To seal in all of the good work we are doing, we have incredible massage therapists who will hold space and provide treatments with an ocean view to all who attend.

Yoga with Claire Petretti Marti of Ocean Soul Yoga, & author of 'Come Ride With Me along the Big C'.
Claire will be leading the daily yoga practice during the retreat. She has been practicing, studying, and teaching yoga since 1999. Like many fitness enthusiasts, she was initially drawn to yoga for the physical benefits of strength, balance, and flexibility. Once she realized that serenity, peace of mind, and a general sense of happiness were predominant results of the practice, she was hooked.
An E-RYT 500 Yoga Alliance instructor, Claire teaches a dynamic vinyasa flow, combined with fun, upbeat music. She utilizes her dance background in her flow sequences so that the movement never stops. Breathing and alignment are key. She is continuing her training with Rod Stryker and the ParaYoga school. Claire is a fully certified Pilates instructor who apprenticed with Julian Littleford, is a Reiki Level 2 Practitioner and also holds a NASM-certification for personal training. Mind-body fitness is her passion.
In the last several years, Claire faced several health challenges, including a diagnosis of breast cancer in January 2010. Yoga has aided her healing throughout surgeries. chemotherapy, and radiation. Learning to live with cancer inspired her to earn her Yoga for Cancer Therapy certification and she now teaches classes specifically for people living with cancer. Learn more on the Yoga for cancer recovery page.
In addition, Claire used yoga and Pilates to help her heal from a car accident that resulted in having a disc surgically replaced in her neck. Her personal experience dealing with spinal damage helps her relate to her clients recovering from injuries.
